Our Mission


  • To breed, raise and professionally train Service Dogs to be provided at no cost to disabled Military Veterans & First Responders with PTS and other disabilities. Recipients will be trained to work with and care for their Service Dogs.
  • To educate the public on:
    • the need for professionally trained Service Dogs.
    • the laws that apply to Service Dogs and their partners.
    • how to help Service Dogs do their work.
  • To advocate for:
    • national standards for Service Dogs.
    • military support of Service Dogs as a key theraputic resource for Military Veterans.

How To Apply For A Service Dog

Thank you for your interest in our Service Dog Program.

Our Organization places Service Dogs with Veterans and First Responders suffering from PTSD

Please understand that the process of receiving a dog can take 18-24 months from the time your application is accepted.

If your application is accepted it does not guarantee you will be placed with a dog, you must meet our requirements which include.

1. Active participation in a treatment program for a minimum of 12 months.

2. You must be able to obtain a written letter of recommendation from a member of your treatment team. ie: therapist, psychiatrist.

3. You must have stable housing for a minimum of 12 months. We will require proof of address and will complete a Home Visit.

We are located in Poughkeepsie NY and will accept applicants that can travel to our facility. You will be required to attend training for a minimum of 40 hours.  Please consider this when applying
